With a talent for filming and editing, he founded Stories to Savor (STS) in 2017 after being inspired by his work with Oprah Winfrey. STS is a one-stop-shop for small businesses looking to elevate their digital presence through high-quality video content, social media marketing, and web design. Derik and his team bring a unique perspective to every project, crafting custom content that tells each client's story in a visually stunning and engaging way. Who Are We

OVERVIEW & GOALS

Dr. Kim Dulaney has written a book titled "This & That: An Open Letter to R. Kelly" and is looking to create an advertising campaign to promote the book. The campaign will consist of one AD Run, a mini-interview about the book, a 20-minute plus video about her and the book, and short videos created from the long interview. The goal of the campaign is to generate interest in the book and increase sales. The promotional campaign will run one week before the presale week, which starts on May 18th and will run on the release date of June 19th.

 

Goals:

  1. Increase awareness of the book: The first goal of the campaign is to increase awareness of the book among the target audience. Dr. Dulaney aims to reach a large number of people through the AD Run, which will be targeted to those who have an interest in books, social issues, and R. Kelly

  2. Create interest & Engage the audience with a longer video: The second goal of the campaign is to create interest and insight in the book through a 20-minute plus video about Dr. Dulaney and the book. This video will provide a more detailed look at the book's content, the author's background, the inspiration and her personal connection to the topic. This will allow potential readers to get a better understanding of the book and increase the likelihood of them making a purchase.

  3. Generate excitement with short videos: The third goal of the campaign is to generate excitement with short videos created from the long interview. These videos will highlight key points from the interview and create interest in the book. They will be shared on social media platforms, and potential readers will be encouraged to share them with their friends and family.

  4. Increase book sales: The final goal of the campaign is to increase book sales during the pre-sale week. By generating interest in the book, engaging the audience, and creating excitement, Dr. Dulaney hopes to see a significant increase in pre-sales during the week of May 18th.

SCOPE OF SERVICES

Stories to Savor will be providing a comprehensive set of services for Dr. Kim Dulaney's promotional campaign for her book "This & That: An Open Letter to R. Kelly." These services include creating and running an AD Run to reach a wider audience, producing a 20-minute plus video about Dr. Dulaney and the book to provide a more detailed look at the book's content and engaging with her audience, author's background and personal connection to the topic. Additionally, Stories to Savor will be creating short videos from the long interview to generate excitement and interest in the book, sharing these videos on social media platforms (if agreed upon) and encouraging potential readers to share them with their friends and family. The ultimate goal of these services is to increase book sales during the presale week by creating awareness, engagement and excitement among potential readers.

Week 1:

  • Initial consultation with Dr. Dulaney to discuss the project requirements and goals.

  • Develop a storyboard for the 20-minute plus video to ensure that all necessary elements are included.

  • Develop a shot list for the video, including any necessary equipment or locations.

 

Week 2:

  • Record the video interview with Dr. Dulaney, including b-roll footage to enhance the visual storytelling.

  • Record video clips of Dr. Dulaney's friends as needed.

 

Week 3:

  • Edit the video interview and footage to create the 20-minute plus video.

  • Develop short videos from the extended video version, highlighting key points of the interview.

  • Develop a strategy for the AD Run, including audience targeting and ad creative.

 

Week 4:

  • Finalize the AD Run strategy and ad creative.

  • Launch the AD Run one week before presales week (May 18th).

  • Share the 20-minute plus video and short videos on social media platforms to generate excitement and interest.

    • ​This step involves producing high-quality content and promotional videos [15 to 30 second videos]. The cost for this step would depend on the number and type of content and videos produced, but it typically ranges from $300 to $2,250. Marketing Videos which are 2 to 3 minutes using Voiceovers | Graphics | Music would cost $3,200, but because you're a returning client you would get 25% off that price.​
